This painting was inspired by the sunflower fields near a pumpkin patch in Skagit Valley Washington. My mom and I go to the pumpkin patch every fall and as a flower lover, I am always drawn to the sunflowers. This trip was no exception. I was captivated by the contrast of the yellow flowers on the blue sky and by the in between stage the sunflowers were in; suspended between life and death.
